I just had to be there. I was excited for the Tribeca Film Festival, but when I got turned away from the opening night gala and had a craving for chicken, I knew that I absolutely HAD to go to Washington Square Park to see #Bernie #Sanders (and get Chick-fil-A).

Before I got turned away from the opening night gala Jane Fonda and Jason? Something? |
I mean, how many chances do you get to see the eventual runner-up of the Democratic Party??! I daresay the number is as low as about 20 (assuming you live for about 80 years and there's an election every four years).

After entering the park and wading through a crowd of unenthusiastic #Bernie supporters, I reached a point where I could just barely see the stage. I listened through Rosaria Dawson and Spike Lee sing praises about the man before inaudible music blasted and someone else walked out.
I wasn't quite sure it was Bernie, but then I saw his inimitable gesticulating arms - were they waving hello, beckoning me closer, or perhaps pointing down the 1%. I was too far away to tell, but
I WAS THERE...for fifteen minutes and then I needed to get my Chick-fil-A.
